The 7th Grade Lamar Bearcats faced Travis in their home opener yesterday, Sept. 9. The Bearcats came out strong defensively, with Wa’quavian Lee and Kayden Clark making key tackles and stops throughout the game.

On offense, the Bearcats showed they could move the ball but came up just short of finding the end zone. The unit was led by Greyson Ross, Aadyn Linear, and Kayden Clark, while the offensive line proved they can be physical up front, anchored by center Blake Karl and Jervaughn "Tank" Hudson.

Despite the strong effort, Lamar struggled to contain the Mustangs’ big-play offense, which led to several scores. While the Bearcats couldn’t keep pace offensively, they showed flashes of their ability to create big plays when needed.

The final score was 28-0 in favor of Travis. The Bearcats will look to bounce back on the road next Monday at Lake Belton, with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m.
