The 7A Bearcats traveled to Cove to take on SC Lee at Bulldawg Stadium on September 30.

The Bearcats started off strong on their opening drive, led by Jafari Bennett, Aadyn Linear, and Kayden Clark. Despite moving the ball efficiently and knocking on the door to score, they were unable to capitalize. Following that drive, the offense struggled to find rhythm for the remainder of the first half.

The Bearcat defense kept the team in the game early, holding strong until a late score right before halftime put SC Lee ahead 12-0. In the third quarter, the Bearcats fell behind quickly, with the deficit growing to 27-0. However, the team continued to fight. A 50-yard run by Jafari Bennett and a 20-yard touchdown pass from Zachary Walker to Kayden Clark cut the lead to 27-12.

The defense, led by Wa’Quavian Lee, Channing Brown, and Joshua Payne, continued to make plays—forcing stops and creating turnovers to give the offense more opportunities. The Bearcats were threatening to score again late in the game, but a costly interception ended the comeback attempt.

The Bearcats ultimately fell by a score of 33-12. They will look to bounce back when they host South Belton on October 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Brad Dusek Field.
