The 8A Bearcats traveled to South Belton on October 7 and fell by a score of 27-8.
The Bearcats struggled to generate offense early, having trouble finding rhythm and consistency. Defensively, they had difficulty containing the outside run and missed several tackles in the first half. However, the defense settled down as the game went on, and the special teams provided a spark. Anthony Martin scored on a 3-yard QB sneak to cut the lead to 14-8 in the third quarter. Despite the momentum shift, the comeback fell short as South Belton pulled away late to win 27-8.
Players of the Game were Anthony Martin, Damien Mitchell, Brandon Sepeda, and Raymond Velasquez for their effort and resilience.
The Bearcats will have a bye week to regroup and prepare for their next matchup against Midway on October 21.
