TEMPLE — The Lamar 7th Grade A Lady Bearcats opened their volleyball season on the road Thursday evening, falling in straight sets to the Lake Belton Middle School Lady Tigers, 25-11, 25-13.

Despite battling tough away-court energy in the opener, the Lady Bearcats showed flashes of resilience and gritty play throughout both sets.

Rory Davis and Peyton Heffernan were named the Players of the Game for Lamar, anchoring the squad with energetic play and consistent hustle to lead the Lady Bearcats' effort on the floor.

Lamar will look to bounce back next week as they prepare for a cross-town rivalry matchup. The Lady Bearcats head back on the road Thursday, September 3, to face off against the Travis Science Academy Lady Mustangs. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
