TEMPLE, TX — The Lamar Lady Bearcat 8th Grade "B" volleyball team made the quick trip across town to face off against cross-town rival Travis Science Academy, but ultimately dropped a tough match to the Lady Mustangs in straight sets, 25-9, 25-6.

With the defeat, the Lady Bearcats drop to 0-2 on the young season as they continue to search for their momentum on the court. Despite the overall team struggle against a sharp Travis squad, Lamar found a strong bright spot in Kealy Walker, who earned Player of the Match honors for her relentless effort and standout play throughout the contest.

The Lady Bearcats will look to brush off the loss, reset during practice, and refocus their sights on their next road challenge. Lamar returns to action on Thursday, September 10, when they travel to Belton to take on South Belton Middle School. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
