The 8th Grade Bearcats hit the road to Tiger Field in search of their first victory of the season, putting together a gritty performance that came down to the absolute final second in a painful 6-0 loss.

Offensively, the Bearcats systematically moved the ball down the field led by Jafari Bennett, Kayden Clark, Aadyn Linear, and Jimmy Caudillo, though finishing drives proved to be the missing link.

Defensively, the Bearcats were relentless. A swarming defense anchored by Robert Williams, Ian Torres, Jervaughn Hudson, and Zachary Walker kept Belton guessing all night and forced 3 crucial turnovers. Dominic Tovar snagged an interception, while Blake Karl pounced on a fumble recovery.

With the game on the line late in the fourth quarter, the defense delivered its biggest moment: on a critical 4th down, Zachary Walker delivered a monster hit to force a fumble and recovered it himself, giving the Bearcat offense one last drive to win the game. Unfortunately, the Bearcats ran out of time before they could punch it into the end zone.
