The Lamar Bearcat 7th Grade A football team hosted North Belton Middle School at Woodson Field on Monday evening. Playing their first game of the season, the Bearcats fell to a tough Bronchos team by a score of 38-0.

Lamar had a couple of drives to score but turned the ball over twice in the end zone. First drive was the most impressive with a big run for 40+ yards by Aakeem Abddeen. But the drive stalled on the 1 yard line with the exchange as Lamar fumbled and lost the possession. Going into the half down 16-0, the defense missed out on two possessions that should been intercepted but North capitalized and scored on both. The Bearcats look to bounce back next week at Cove vs the bullpups. Offensive Player of the game was Aakeem Abddeen and Liam Inzunza. 

Lamar (0-1) on the season will return to play September 16 when they will travel to Bulldawg Stadium to take on Copperas Cove Junior High beginning at 6:15 pm.
