The Lamar 8th grade boys track & field team participated in the Lake Belton Divisional Meet held at Lake Belton High School on Thursday.
With the anticipation of inclement weather, the field events and 2400 meter run were cancelled and were postponed to be completed at the district meet to be held at Midway High School on April 1st.
However, the races on Thursday were a qualifying meet with the Top Four places in each event now advancing to the Centex District Championships next week.
The Bearcats finished in 5th Place in the team standings with a total of 23 points while Midway took first place with 145.
The Bearcats were led by Markell Estrada and the 4x400 relay team which qualified for the District Meet.
