MCGREGOR - The Lamar Bearcats 8B team dropped a hard-fought contest to River Valley, 45–20, in a game that was much tighter than the final score suggests. Lamar stayed within striking distance early, trailing just 20–11 at the half, before the game got away from them in the second half.

Zai'Andre Fierce led the scoring with 11 points, followed by William Mcknight with 6 points and Tristen Williams with 3 points. For his overall performance and effort, Tristen Williams was named Player of the Game.

The Bearcats return to action on January 22 as they host SC Lee for their final home game of the year.
