COPPERAS COVE, TX — The Lamar Lady Bearcat 7th Grade A basketball team faced a challenging road environment on Wednesday night, matching up against a potent SC Lee Junior High squad. Despite a high-energy effort from the Lamar roster, the Lady Cougars proved to be too much to handle on their home court, handing the Lady Bearcats a 59-4 loss.
From the opening tip, Lee Junior High established a dominant tempo, utilizing a physical defense that made scoring opportunities scarce for the visiting Lady Bearcats.
Lady Bearcat Standouts
Despite the tough defensive pressure from the Lady Cougars, several Lady Bearcats refused to quit, earning Player of the Game honors for their tenacity and hustle:
Kaylynn Gile: Leading the way offensively, Gile provided the scoring for Lamar, finishing the night with 4 points and showing great poise under the basket.
Elyana Scott: Scott was a force on the defensive end, consistently tracking back and providing the Lady Bearcats with much-needed energy and leadership throughout the game.
Ava Bibb: Recognized for her relentless work ethic, Bibb battled for possessions and remained a physical presence on the court from tip-off to the final whistle.

The Lady Bearcats will have one final opportunity to showcase their growth and spirit in front of a home crowd. Lamar is set to host Midway for the final game of the season.
