COPPERAS COVE — The Lamar Lady Bearcat 8th Grade A basketball team faced a challenging road environment on Wednesday evening as they traveled to take on a disciplined SC Lee Junior High squad. Despite a gritty defensive effort, the Lady Bearcats struggled to find their rhythm offensively, falling to the Lady Cougars by a final score of 32-11.
The game was a physical contest from the opening tip. SC Lee utilized a high-pressure defense to limit Lamar’s scoring opportunities early, building a lead that the Lady Bearcats spent the rest of the night trying to chip away at. While the shots wouldn't fall for the visiting side, the team's hustle remained evident until the final buzzer.
