BELTON, Texas — The Lamar Middle School 7th Grade B Lady Bearcats showed resilience on the road Thursday evening, but ultimately fell to South Belton Middle School in straight sets, 25-13, 25-21.

South Belton took control early in the opening set, leveraging strong serving and precise execution to build a cushion and capture the 25-13 victory. Unfazed by the drop, the Lady Bearcats regrouped and put together a fierce comeback effort in the second set. Lamar traded points in a high-energy back-and-forth contest, staying within striking distance until South Belton managed to pull away late to seal the match with a 25-21 decision.

Despite the setback, Lamar showcased impressive hustle and standout individual performances. Eternity King and Maddison Thompson were named the Lady Bearcat Players of the Game for their consistent energy, strong defensive efforts, and leadership on the court throughout both sets.

With the loss, Lamar moves to 0-3 on the young season, but the sharp improvement shown in Thursday's second set offers plenty of momentum heading into next week.

The 7th Grade B Lady Bearcats will look to claim their first win of the season on Thursday, September 17, when they return to Temple for their highly anticipated home opener. Lamar is set to host Copperas Cove S.C. Lee Junior High at Bearcat Gym.
