BELTON — The Lamar Middle School 7th Grade A Lady Bearcats hit the road on Thursday evening and powered past South Belton Middle School in straight sets, earning a hard-fought 25-18, 25-21 win on the Lady Tigers' home court.
Lamar set the tone early in the opening set, leaning on sharp communication and relentless defense to pull away for a 25-18 win. South Belton answered with a strong push in the second frame, but the Lady Bearcats held their ground in the key moments to seal the match with a 25-21 set victory.
The Lady Bearcat Players of the Game were Destinee De Los Santos and Honesti Carter, whose clutch play and leadership on the floor proved decisive down the stretch.
With the victory, Lamar improves to 1-2 on the young season as they build momentum heading into their upcoming schedule.
The Lady Bearcats will look to keep their winning streak going on Thursday, September 17, when they return to Temple for their first home game of the season. Lamar will host Copperas Cove SC Lee Junior High at Bearcat Gym, with first serve scheduled for 7:00 PM.
