CAMERON — The Lamar Middle School 7th Grade Girls Cross Country team turned in a strong effort on Wednesday evening, battling through a competitive 2-mile course at the Yoe Harriers Cross Country Meet hosted by Cameron Middle School.

Although the Lady Bearcats did not field enough runners to post a team score, three 7th-grade athletes represented Lamar with grit and determination across the 2-mile course:

Aaliyah Staples — 74th Place (21:59.39)
Kennedy Jackson — 87th Place (24:32.36)
Brooklyn Jackson — 98th Place (28:13.42)

Little River Academy's Taryn Goode set the pace for the entire field, breaking the tape with a swift 12:40.00 to take the overall victory.
