BELTON — The Lamar Middle School 8th Grade Girls Cross Country team made the trip to Belton on Wednesday evening to compete in the South Belton Middle School Cross Country Meet. Competing on a challenging 2-mile course, four Lady Bearcat runners pushed through a crowded field to represent Lamar Middle School.

Lamar Lady Bearcats Performance

Due to having fewer than five runners, Lamar did not have enough competitors to score in the overall team standings. However, the four Lady Bearcats put forth strong individual efforts across the 75-runner field.
Leading the way for Lamar was Olivea Rodriguez, who was the top finisher for the team, crossing the line in 67th place with a time of 20:02.14. Right behind her was Valerie Garcia Munoz, finishing 71st at 20:39.12. Jazaylah Martinez earned 72nd place with a time of 21:02.29, and Dre'Dynn Green rounded out the Lamar performances in 74th place with a time of 22:35.61.

Wellborn Middle School dominated the front of the pack, placing four of the top five individual runners in the 2-mile race.
