The Lamar 8th grade boys traveled to Tiger Field on September 24 to take on South Belton in a defensive battle for the ages!

The Bearcats defense came out firing early, forcing a quick turnover and setting the tone. Lamar pushed hard all game, with the offensive line—led by Jervaughn "Tank" Hudson, Ian Torres, Blake Karl, Daniel Ruiz, and Champion Bailey—paving the way and creating huge holes for the run game.

Major Lee Jr., Kayden Clark, Ian Torres, Joshua Payne, and Channing Brown anchored a relentless Bearcat defense, making key stops and big tackles to keep South Belton off the board. Jimmy Caudillo nearly put 6 on the board with a spectacular near-touchdown catch in the endzone!

Locked in a 0-0 defensive standoff deep into the 4th quarter, South Belton broke through with just 20 seconds remaining to take an 8-0 lead. The Bearcats refused to back down, using a late facemask penalty to drive into striking distance for one final shot, but ultimately fell just short as time expired.
Despite the tough loss, these Bearcats fought for all four quarters!
