BELTON– The Lamar 8th grade boys and girls cross country teams participated in the Belton Invitational at Heritage Park in Belton on Wednesday.

The Lady Bearcats were led by Azaria Staples who finished in the 10th place in the 2 mile course. Staples ran the course in a time of 14:42.

Also having a strong performance was Jaylynn York who finished in 18th with a time of 15:13 and Desiree Tools (73rd) in a time of 19:21.

Lamar returns to action on October 8 when they will compete in the District Championships that will be held at Lions Park.
