The Lamar Middle School 8th grade B girls' basketball team faced a tough challenge Thursday night, returning to action at Bearcat Gym to host River Valley Middle School. In a game defined by gritty defensive play, the Lady Bearcats fell to the visitors by a final score of 24-4.
River Valley’s offense found its rhythm early, building a lead that Lamar struggled to chip away at despite consistent effort on both ends of the floor. While the scoreboard favored the opposition, the Lady Bearcats showed resilience in their defensive rotations throughout the evening.
Players of the Game
Two Lady Bearcats were recognized for their contributions and hustle during the matchup:
Raelynn Tanner: Tanner provided a spark for the Lamar offense, breaking through the River Valley defense to contribute a point and maintaining high energy on the court.
Ariana Salinas: Salinas was a standout for her defensive presence and leadership, battling for possessions and helping stabilize the team’s transitions.
